Training
Pants For Toddlers
When it comes to choosing the right training pants for your
toddler, there is a wide range of pants to choose from. The cotton training
pants are the most preferred kind of training pants for toddlers. Why is this
so? This is because the cotton training pants are more comfortable and very
absorbent. Also they are trim and they are lined with terry linen cloth that
ensures plenty of air circulation next to the baby’s soft skin. The terry linen
helps in preventing nappy and diaper rash, also the terry linen keeps the
toddlers bum warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The cotton training pants
have a protective outer layer that helps preventing leaks that are known in
staining a toddler’s outfit.
There are many other reasons why parents and caregivers opt
to use the wide variety of cotton training pants for their toddlers. They come
in several colors and prints and letting your toddler pick one for him or
herself is an important step in the transition from potty to pants. Picking out
a training pant for themselves encourages the toddlers in their participation
of the training process. A sense of pride is instilled in toddlers when they
are given some kind of control over their appearance when choosing their pants.
However, the cotton training pants encourage a toddler to
quickly learn and master how to use the bathroom quickly and effectively. Why
this is is so? Because the training pants are thick and absorbent they make the
toddler feel a noticeable sense of being wet and this encourages them to use
the bathroom immediately rather than having to void on themselves.
It is worth noting that cotton training pants are more
natural and will never irritate the toddler’s skin unlike other training pants.
All you need is several pairs of cotton training pants whether your toddler
will graduate to regular underwear in a few weeks or some months. Also you can
use the cotton training pants conveniently at night if the toddler does not
sleep through the night without wetting their beds. Diaper liners can also be
used together with the cotton training pants to increase absorbency. It is
highly recommended to pick one with wide elastic bands. Your child would not
find it hard to pull up / down his training pants because he would have a
better grip.
Disposable training pants unlike the cotton pants are so
absorbent that the toddler cannot feel if they are wet. This discourages the
toddler to use the bathroom because they are comfortable even after wetting
their pants.
Other
types of training pants for toddlers include;
Cloth training pants
The cloth
training pants are wallet friendly and reusable. Although they are affordable
they take more time in washing and drying.
In addition they cause skin irritation and at times the toddler’s may
suffer skin rash.
Disposable training pants
The disposable training pants are easy to use and can be
pulled down whenever the toddler have to use the potty. However, the disposable training pants are
made from harsh materials that can cause skin rash and irritation and are not
to be used on children with sensitive skin.
Finally, your decision lies in your
child's needs. Make him an active part of the decision-making process. Your
child's comfort should always be your number one priority.
